It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to AAMoV.
As an association we have achieved much since our inception and are working hard to become known as a strong voice representing volunteer management in the Australasian region.
AAMoV is run by an elected board of members, a place where Volunteer Managers unite for a common cause.
We aim to be an association that:
Includes our members in the solution process, empowering them to be champions for AAMoV and our profession in their regions
Share knowledge and experiences through regular communication and networking opportunities
Enhance and develop the role of individuaals working in the field of volunteer management
Create strength in our profession by uniting Volunteer Managers across all sectors in one place
Provide support and mentorship to new Managers to volunteering
Professional Volunteer Managers should always strive to provide best practice in all they do and in the volunteer program they lead. The key to good practice in volunteer management is networking with others and information sharing to ensure effective leadership. Without successful leadership, people are left feeling uninspired, unsure of their role and may lack commitment.
I urge all of our members to remember that you are a professional and view your role as a Volunteer Manager as just that, a profession. Embrace best practices in volunteer management, utilise the experience of the network that is the AAMoV membership, create diverse solutions for problems and be an AAMoV champion in your own circles encouraging others to take action. This is a critical element to the success of AAMoV.
Our website offers many useful resources designed to assist you, you can tap into these any time you need or email the Board to put a question out to the rest of our members for their advice.
Again, welcome and remember that this is your Association! Make use of it, promote it and give us a voice. Remember that we are only a call or email away.
